Everyone’s a Critic

I’m sure every property manager has witnessed the “power of the web” – the internet is the undisputed champion of the targeted lead. Many of you will agree that a major portion of your closed leads are generated via aggregator sites (sites that pull listing data, such a Rent.com), online classifieds and other methods of web advertising… and that’s good – Great in fact!

With the opportunity of telling the world about your wonderful community comes the potential downside of opening a forum for displeased residents to criticize your efforts. Some will have good reason to complain – others may be out to harm.

While we strive to address complaints to improve our properties, we of course would rather deal with them in a more private manner than a public announcement that any prospective tenant may stumble across (or may be actively searching for). Negative reviews and ratings online are bad for business – very bad. Read more
